An enjoyable time was had by all who attended last Sunday's picnic. Thanks to those who planned & helped make this anticipated, annual event possible. The winners of the Homemade Dessert Contest were Susan Durham, Hannah,Hannah, Grace & Abby Naumoff & Pat Gorman (1st place: Orange Italian Cake).

Blood Drive:
Thanks to those who gave the Gift of Life at yesterday morning's AnMed Blood Drive. Special thanks to those who provided the delicious breakfast.

Braves Game:
Several enjoyed a trip to Turner Field to see the Atlanta Braves beat the Washington Nationals 5-4 on Saturday evening, Sep 15th. A good time was had by all; thanks to those who organized & supported this event.

Choir practice will soon begin for this year's cantata, The Hope of Christmas. Please make plans to join our volunteer choir & share the good news of Jesus.

Sister' Act:
Sister' Act will meet at the church this Tuesday; bring a sack dinner & some elbow grease to clean the kitchen. If you have your own gloves/cleaning supplies that you wish to use, bring them along. See Lynda for questions.

Don't forget next weekend's Fall Retreat in Blowing Rock (Grade 3 thru age 22). See Telva Elwell right away if you haven't registered for Up,In, Out (The theme of this year's retreat).

Adelle Chandler:
The Adelle Chandler Ladies Circle will meet Tues, Oct 2, at the church at 7 pm. Linda Smith will serve as hostess; all ladies of the church are invited.

Bible Reading:
How about reading through the New Testament this fall? Pick up a daily Bible reading schedule on the entryway table, mark your progress and complete reading the New Testament before Christmas!

Music Special:
Mark your calendars for Sunday evening, Oct 28th and attend an evening of singing and special music. Our brothers and sisters in Christ from our area churches have been invited to attend and participate in this 6 pm song service.

End Alzheimer's:
Several "Walks to End Alzheimer's" are being held in the coming month,including the 9 am, Oct 20 walk at Greenville County Square. Nov is National Alzheimer's Disease Month & Caregiver Month. On Nov 11 (10 am: 12), a free presentation on Alzheimer's warning signs & caregiving will be held at Beth Israel Congregation, G'ville. Call 864-250-0029 for info.

Dave Riley has been hired as Cornerstone Bible Church's pastor in McDonough, GA. He will begin Oct 21, replacing Joe Myers who will be joining his family in the Phoenix area.

The film, Unconditional opened in theaters this weekend & is billed as an inspiring, faith-based story which encourages moviegoers to make a difference.
