Welcome to Guthrie Grove Church of God on this first Sunday in November. We are glad that you are here and pray that your faith will be encouraged today. The psalmist says, “Let us come before Him with thanksgiving & extol Him with music and song.  For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.”

Call to Worship:

We Worship Through Giving:
(Joyfully receiving the Lord’s Tithes and Our Offerings)
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Cor. 9:8)

We Lift Our Voices in Song:
Give Thanks (Used w/permission, CCLI#279119)
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"

We rejoice in Jean McComb’s decision to put on Christ in the waters of baptism. Jean’s baptism by Pastor Mike this past Wednesday morning was witnessed by a small gathering of family and friends.  Please greet Jean with the right hand of fellowship as you exit church today, welcoming her into fellowship at Guthrie Grove.

New Classes:
Ed Bender has begun a new Sunday School Class today.  If not currently attending Sunday School, feel free to join the group in Room B200 (End of Educational Wing Hallway).
Jennie Montgomery is leading a discussion on various aspects of worship/leading worship. She is out-of-town this weekend, but feel free the class next weekend in Room B213.

Financial Assistance:
Cooler temperatures and the winter season are quickly approaching.  If anyone in the congregation is in need of financial assistance to help with utility bills, etc., please contact the deacons or Pastor Mike.  If you have ideas of those in our church family who could benefit from this year’s Thanksgiving Offering, speak to Bobby P. during the next few weeks.

Thanksgiving Service:
Our annual Sunday Evening Thanksgiving Service is just around the corner. Please speak to Sherry or Jamie if you have ideas for this service and/or would  like to contribute in some way.

Christmas Program:
Practice for our annual Children’s Christmas Program begins Wednesday evening, Nov. 7- 7 pm.  Please have your children here as the program is just a month away!

Anderson Interfaith Ministries:
Volunteers are needed at Anderson Interfaith Ministries. Visit aimcharity.org for ways that you can help; there are information cards on the entryway table for needed food and non-food items.

There are 3 TV’s that are yours for the asking- small, medium & large sizes.  They are old-style but most likely in good working condition.  See Sherry A. or Pastor Mike.

The Trustees mentioned at last week’s board meeting that the next necessary capital improvement would be replacing church guttering, at a cost will of $4,500. A little additional income generated by many individuals will help make this effort come to fruition without taking away from the General Fund.

Fall Color:
Sign the sheet in the entryway if you wish to travel to the mountains next Thursday to view fall color & enjoy lunch together. See Wayne for more info.

Terry Ferrel:
Pastor Terry is recovering at home from a lengthy set-back.  Wish to send a card? (7509 Hwy 81 N., Easley, SC  29642)
