Welcome ~

Call to Worship ~
Hymn #148
Christ Arose

Majesty, worship His majesty
unto Jesus be all glory,
power and praise.
Majesty, kingdom authority
flow from His throne
unto His own, His anthem raise.
So exalt, lift up on high
the name of Jesus.
Magnify, come glorify
Christ Jesus, the King.
Majesty, worship His majesty.
Jesus, who died, now glorified
King of all kings.

Jay Carlton Craft:
We're saddened to report the death of Jay Carlton Craft who fell asleep in death this past Monday evening. Funeral services were held at Guthrie Grove this past Thursday, with burial in the church cemetery. Our sympathy to Annette, Vallie and Nancy (And families). We pray for the Day when there is no more pain, sorrow, sickness and death. Come Lord Jesus.

Son-Rise Service:
We appreciate all who attended this morning's Son-Rise Service, as well as our musicians, speakers, those who provided breakfast & helped in the kitchen, etc. It was good to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with our brothers & sisters from our area sister churches.

Piedmont Emergency Relief Center:
Thanks to all who brought food items for the Piedmont Emergency Relief Center which services 29673, 29611, 29669, 29697, 29640 & 29642 zip code areas. Volunteers/donations help keep operating costs at a minimum; all food donations this month will be matched $1 per pound of food.

Communion will be observed this evening. Scripture says that on the night Jesus was betrayed, He took bread, gave thanks, broke the bread and said,"This is my body, which is for you; do this is remembrance of me." In the same way he then took the cup saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." Communion is a time of remembering Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf, as well as looking forward to His Return. Paul told the saints at Corinth, "Whenever you eat this bread & drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes." Please join us in the Sanctuary at 6 pm for this meaningful observance.

Congratulations to Jackie McMinn Elmore (Anderson Chapel) and Jim Smith (Bethel Church of God) who were married in Hendersonville this past week.

Grits and Groceries:
There's still room for you to join us this Thursday, Apr 12 for lunch together at Grits and Groceries. (Sign-up sheet on the entryway table) The van will depart around 10:30-10:40; meal selections are between 6 and 10 dollars. On the return trip, we'll stop at Belton and spend some time at the museums there (SC Tennis Hall of Fame, Ruth Drake Museum) before arriving back at the church.

Junior Church:
We welcome our children from Junior Church to Morning Worship today. We're thankful for our Junior Church teachers and helpers, as well as for parents & grandparents who bring their children & grandchildren to church.

A Little Humor:
Each day when I came home from work, I would drop to my knees & ask my 4-yr. old son if he wanted to box. We would always spar around for a few minutes before supper. 1 day my wife & took our son to get new shoes. The salesman was friendly & allowed my son to try on several pairs of shoes before we decided on a particular pair that he liked. We asked if he wanted to wear them home, & he replied, "Yes." The salesman, who was kneeling on the floor in front of our son, held the old shoes in his hands & asked, "Do you want a box?" Our son stood up & punched him right on the nose. After grabbing our son, we had to spend the next several minutes explaining why this happened. Luckily, the salesman was also the father of a 4-yr. old!
