Each year we recognize our Guthrie Grove graduates with a special Graduate Sunday Program. Would you like to coordinate this service of recognition? If so speak to one of the pastors. Twelve individuals traveled to Atlanta to see the very moving Passion Play at the Civic Center on Sat., Apr 16 and enjoy a meal together at TGI Friday's. Wayne has announced a van trip to Greenville on May 5th / see him for details. George, Ashlynn and Hunter Jordan have a new home. They wish to thank everyone who helped out during the completion of their house and their recent move. We wish them God's blessing during this special time in their lives. The church has received a nice thank you card from Sara & Ben Callis (Joni's daughter/Nancy & Lowell's grand-daughter). They were touched by the many cards and well-wishes they received from their fellow Guthrie Grove members and friends. This year's Nominating Committee consists of Dan Durham, Dean Smith, Amy Lanford, Lynda Grant, Ashley Hall, Joseph Partain & Harry McMinn. The committee has met once; stay tuned for more info from Chairman Dan. A community fundraiser to benefit Doug Ford (Recently diagnosed w/Liver Cancer) will be held Sat., Apr 30 at Tabernacle Baptist, 519 Anderson St., Pelzer. Starting at 11am until 3 pm, BBQ plates will be sold (Tickets are $10); baked goods will be available as well. There will be a gospel singing throughout the afternoon. The Lord's Supper will be observed this evening at 6 pm. Jesus instituted the Communion Service on the night before He crucified. When baptized believers partake of the broken bread and the cup, they remember Christ's sacrificial death, as well as they look forward to His Second Coming. Jesus told his disciples, "I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."
